The company drives green transformation across key stages, including product design, supplier management, raw material procurement, manufacturing, and warehousing logistics. It actively explores green circularity and sustainable development throughout the entire industry chain and product lifecycle.

  • 2025

    - By 2025, the company has established a complete low-carbon competitiveness system of "accurate accounting, international certification, product leadership, and standard co-construction", and has made leading progress in the field of carbon, footprint management and low-carbon development.

    - JA has deeply integrated the concept of green development into the supply chain management, actively promoted the carbon footprint certification of important photovoltaic module production material suppliers, established a regional procurement network, and preferred local and environmentally friendly raw materials.

    - Established a supplier ESG and compliance incentive mechanism, set up "ESG and compliance" additional points in the "Supplier Comprehensive Performance Appraisal", and include carbon footprint, carbon accounting, participation in CDP supply chain projects, third-party ESG audits, scientific carbon target (SBTi) formulation and labor management, and other sustainable development performance into the assessment.

    - Updated SBTi targets for a 58.8% reduction in Scope I & II GHG emissions in 2034 based on 2023; a 63.8% reduction in GHG emissions in Scope III related purchased goods and services for each MW of PV product produced compared to 2023. A 90% reduction in GHG emissions in Scope I & II in 2050 based on 2023; A 97% reduction in GHG emissions in Scope 3 product related purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy related activities, and upstream transportation and distribution for each MW of PV product produced compared to 2023. Achieve net zero GHG emissions across the entire value chain by 2050.

    - Successfully selected for the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2024.

    - Listed on the "China ESG Listed Companies Pioneers 100 (2024)" ranking.

  • 2023

    - Formulated the "JA Solar Responsible Procurement Policy", promoting raw material carbon footprint certification and implementing strict sustainability monitoring for raw materials.

    - Integrated the principles of green and low-carbon development and environmental impact into product design considerations.

    - Collaborated with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to co-develop the "Zero-Carbon Factory Construction Reference Guide for PV Cell and Module Manufacturers", offering guidance for green and intelligent manufacturing within the industry.

    - Successfully completed JA Solar's first low-carbon industrial park project, the "Yiwu Low-Carbon Industrial Park Project", marking the company's entry into the era of "Zero-Carbon Parks" and "Smart Energy".

    - Released its "Greenhouse Gas Emission Report", providing transparent and scientific data to support green and low-carbon development.

    - Became one of the first supporting organizations of China's "Green Electricity 100%" (GE100%) initiative.

  • 2022

    - Established a "Supplier Social Responsibility and Sustainability Assessment" system, incorporating carbon disclosure, carbon footprint, and green electricity usage into the supplier evaluation and scoring criteria.

    - Officially joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to reduce the company's greenhouse gas emissions within operational boundaries by 42% by 2030, based on 2023 levels, and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions no later than 2050.

    - JA Solar has proposed the G2G sustainability concept, strategy, and vision of "Green to Green, Green to Grow, Green to Great" centering on the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
