On August 17, the Beijing Green Exchange announced that the National Greenhouse Gas Voluntary Emission Reduction Trading System (website: www.ccer.com.cn) will open the account opening function from now on, accepting applications from market participants for registration accounts and trading accounts. The opening time of the trading function will be notified separately.
Old CCER can continue to be traded
The old CCER that have been certificated before March 14, 2017 still can be traded in 9 trading institutions, including the Beijing Green Exchange. Entities that have the need to trade old CCER can continue to open registration accounts for the old voluntary emission reduction registration system (website: http://registry.ccersc.org.cn/login.do) and 9 trading institutions. For the relevant account opening requirements, please refer to the website of each trading institution.
New and old accounts are handled differently
1) For market participants who have opened registration accounts in the old voluntary emission reduction registration system before August 18, 2023, they can log in to the National Greenhouse Gas Voluntary Emission Reduction Registration System with the same initiator or confirmation representative account number and password.
2) For market participants who have not opened the registration account of the old voluntary emission reduction registration system before August 18, 2023 (inclusive), if they need to use the old CCER to offset the quota payment in 2021 and 2022, they need to open a separate account. The establishment of the old voluntary emission reduction registration system registration account, the trading system transaction account of any one of the nine trading institutions and the new voluntary emission reduction registration system registration account.
