On September 28th, the Shanghai Vehicle Inspection and Certification Technology Research Center Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the National Motor Vehicle Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Shanghai), held the inauguration ceremony of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Testing Base at the Jading Hydrogen Port in Shanghai. Attending the event were Tang Wenkan, Deputy Director of the Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhou Guoliang, Director of the Municipal Employment Promotion Center, Weng Kaining, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Lingang Group, Gong Wei, Vice President of Lingang Group and Chairman of Shanghai Automotive Inspection, Zu Sijie, Vice President of SAIC Motor Corporation and Deputy Chairman of Shanghai Automotive Inspection, as well as other leaders from the Jading District and experts and scholars from research institutions and universities.

Tang Wenkan pointed out that hydrogen energy is a key development direction of strategic emerging industries and future industries. The completion of the Shanghai Automotive Inspection Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Testing Base is an important support for Shanghai to promote the development of green and low-carbon industries and the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry in line with the new track. He hopes that Shanghai Automotive Inspection will further leverage the advantages of a third-party national-level motor vehicle testing institution, closely focus on the hydrogen energy and fuel cell automotive industry chain, take the lead in conducting research and formulation of standards related to hydrogen energy and fuel cells, and solidify the foundation to gain advantages and influence in industry competition standards.

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Testing Base is one of the second batch of major projects in Shanghai's new infrastructure construction, located within the Jading Hydrogen Port area, covering a total area of nearly 50 acres with an investment of 670 million yuan. The operation of this base will supplement the important link of testing and certification in the hydrogen energy industry chain, becoming the first third-party testing and research and development public service platform in Shanghai that covers technologies related to fuel cell vehicles, engines, fuel cell stacks, and key components. It will provide crucial support for Shanghai to promote the development of green and low-carbon industries and advance the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry, contributing to the creation of a highland for the development of the domestic hydrogen energy and fuel cell automotive industry.
